Territorial Behavior...
I'm trying to find some websites to help you out, but unfortunately I'm not coming up with very many.
Here is one:Spay/Neuter If your rabbit is between 3 and 6 he is experiencing an adolescent stage. During this time young rabbits go through a "Search and Destroy" stage, chewing and marking anything they come in contact with... including you. One way to minimize that behavior is to spay or neuter your rabbit. For me that was not an option as breeding was planed. So I recommend, if "fixing" is out of the picture, making an enclosure for your rabbits where they can be out and about but away from your good furniture. After your rabbit has calmed down you can gradually give it free reign (or not!) of the house. I suggest thoroughly cleaning the area your rabbit has marked and perhaps spraying some vinegar around (rabbits are supposed to dislike the smell) the area he likes to mark. Also when you see that he is about to mark the area move him to another spot and show him a toy or do something to distract him. Good luck and remember have patience! Lissa Your Rabbit depends on you for everything including love. |

thanks for the advice! Thanks for the information, I am going to try the vinegar that sounds like a good idea. I can neuter one of my bucks because he has a split penis so I cannot breed him. (thats why he was a free pet Ashley |
