There is now a FIVE CHARACTERS TO A PERSON limit! I'm sorry that I keep changing this, but I promise that this is the last alteration!!!

Along those lines, I'd like to include that the five character limit is that you may have up to three cannons and two originals... though the originals, if both to be students of Hogwarts, must be in different houses and years. (For more information, see the Announcements thread in the Character Applications forum.

Characters are being applied for left and right! So get in there and submit a form before I stop accepting!

The Present Day

Students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are finally returning to their school--they should all be making their trip back to the castle on the Hogwarts Express this very moment.

The fair weather of the summer seems to have suddenly taken a frightful turn--the clear, sunny skies have been crowded with great, black rain-clouds. The clouds have been letting down torrents of rain, bolts of lightning, and rolls of thunder the likes of which are almost foreign after the pleasant conditions of the previous weeks of July.

‘He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named Well Out of the Sight of the Ministry’

Since troubling events last spring unfolded in the very halls of the Ministry of Magic, the entire wizarding world has been on its guard.
After frightening stories told by Harry Potter, the young boy who seemingly brought the Dark Lord’s reign of terror to an end, were denounced numerous times by the Ministry as nothing more than tall tales told to draw attention to his person, they finally went back on their word. The bureau decided that, due to new information in light of the claims, the accounts given by the teen were in fact true.
“How were we to know?” an alarmed Ministry Representative later commented. “He sounded like a raving loony to me… had us all fooled, I daresay.”
Potter, who has just recently turned sixteen, had been supporting allegations that the Dark Lord had returned throughout his entire fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore looked to be nothing more than ringleaders of a ridiculous thread of rumours that the Ministry tried to quash determinedly.
However, after roughly an entire year spent denying the ‘false’ claims, the members of the Ministry witnessed undisclosed events that changed their minds. And now, nearly two months later, after spending countless hours searching for the hiding place of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the Ministry of Magic is hardly the length of a pinky toe ahead in progress.
When asked to comment on their lack of advancement in the investigation, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge had much to say.
“Well, we’ve been trying our hardest. But no luck so far…” the small man’s eyes dart nervously around his office. “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has yet to be seen anywhere… well, I mean, we’ve had a ‘sighting’ or two… Grocers and whatnot, hardly reliable, really… at a pub… but nothing that’s lead us to any discoveries…
“Of course, there’s really no evidence that he’s planning to do anything… Made no moves in the last two months…” the Minister offers a sort of weak smile. “We’re hoping that he’s decided to retire.”
Harry Potter was not available to comment.

Want Ads

At the current time, Pravus is in need of many crucial cannon characters. Anyone wishing to role-play as a student, professor, or non school-attendees is a desired applicant.

All members of the faculty, excluding the DADA position, Professor McGonagall, and Madame Pomfrey, have yet to be taken.

Numerous out-of-school characters are also in need of RPers, including all of the Death Eaters, a great deal of the Order of the Phoenix, any Ministry workers, and even Lord Voldemort himself…

Welcome to Pravus - A Harry Potter RPG! Our RPG is a very detailed, plot-based one, with a calendar and schedule for Hogwarts students and planned dates to Hogsmeade and for Quidditch games. There are also areas outside of the school for characters who do not attend Hogwarts, including Diagon Alley, the entire Floo Network, and even the lair of He-who-must-not-be-named.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENT! (August 18th, 2004) The Hogwarts Express Trip will not end after a specific amount of time, as planned, due to the fact that a ton of us have or will soon be starting up school again! Instead, just pay attention to the little box in the sidebar panel titled 'The Current Day' for any changes.

Also, we've lost three characters from our ranks! The most-lovely Mae, one of our admins, is unfortunately unable to continue playing her characters. These three characters are Harry Potter, Madam Pomfrey, and Alastor Moody. If you are interested in taking over the control of any of these characters, there is a thread in the Character Applications Forum entitled 'Adoptions' from which they may be 'adopted'.Floo Network Forum
