| NOV 2002 - In the wake of the Bali bombing, HOTEL Asia Pacific (www.hotelasiapacific.com) and Pertlink (www.pertlink.net) have jointly launched this online Hotel Security Forum to allow the hotel industry to share crucial information about protecting your guests, staff and property.
We firmly believe that security is vital to the future of the industry as a whole, and should not be seen as a marketing advantage to increase guests, rates, etc. Most of the big hotel operators already have comprehensive security gameplans in place - but what about the smaller groups or independent operators that cannot afford to carry out their own security audits and put in place essential safeguards?
We will be working with security experts from within the industry and from outside, who will offer advice to the industry as a whole, across all geographical, political and ethnic borders. They will also help to moderate discussions and disseminate market intelligence.
Unlike product development, marketing plans or new F&B concepts, hotel security expertise cannot be viewed as proprietary information or jealously guarded. It must be made available to the industry as a whole - for the good of the industry as a whole.
Welcome to the Hotel Security Forum - please do not be afraid to ask questions or, if you have the answers, to provide them.
You will initially be required to go through a short registration process - when prompted to do so - select local forum - Pertlink. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Entry to this Forum is without cost and so you can bypass any payment reference in the 'make a donation section'.
If you experience problems registering, please send an email to terence@pertlink.net
The industry is in this together.
