Sita wasn't for lack of socialising lately, but something felt empty. She kept having these run-ins with men... Corey, of course. Then Christoph, and of course Alexios. She felt like she might actually miss having a girl or two around, like Aleks. Where was everyone when she needed them? She wanted a clan meeting, with lots of talking and laughing and fun. But that didn't seem likely anymore.
What she needed was to find someone to talk to, someone preferably female. Problem being, where would she find the girl she needed to talk to? She sighed softly and sat on the grass outside the Opera House. It was almost dusk, and she was out of time.
Thanks, babe. If I do this incorrectly, I'm gonna shoot myself in the foot. Eh, it's crap. Don't bother reading. Just delete it now.

Caliandra walked down the street, looking to her left, then her right. She was new here, wandering from place to place, trying to find somewhere where she might fit in. Caliandra, or Cj as most people used to call her, had been moving around for most of her life. Until recently, she had been trying to find shelter with her younger sister, Tessa...but she went missing the week before. Tessa had gone out after dark and had gotten lost...or worse. Caliandra didn't want to think about what could've happened. She had spent days looking for her, but finally decided it was a lost cause. Caliandra sighed heavily, knowing that she had failed as a sister. And as a daughter...that's why her parents had abandoned Caliandra and her sister 10 years earlier, when Caliandra was 9. Caliandra shook her head, trying to get rid of the negative thoughts. She looked up just as she was nearing a very old looking building. It looked like a theater or opera house of some sort, and Caliandra felt the urge to walk in and stand on the stage and just sing. She hadn't been on stage in years, not since her parents left. Her child acting days were long gone. As she came to the front of the building, she stopped, seeing a girl sitting on the grass down the way. She stood, frozen in place. This is the first person she saw since she had come to...to...well, wherever she was. She almost asked for directions, or something to eat. She hadn't eaten in quite awhile and she was getting thinner. She shook her head, not wanting to beg for food...again. She pushed her short red hair behind her ear, turned, and walked away...hoping that the girl didn't notice her.
Sita laid out in the grass, trying to concentrate on the sky darkening above her. There was nobody around, just like always. The stars began to appear, and still Sita didn't see anoyone else around. She was hoping that Corey might come around, give her something to do. (Okay, that statement was a little bit too literal at this point.) But she was dying for some sort of human contact, and dying was the correct word. She was pretty sure she didn't want Corey to come out and do what he'd done last time... she was still feeling infinitely sick from that. She sighed softly into the night air. There was a bag of crisps laying beside her, but she wasn't hungry. And that's when she heard a noise.
She went on alert, taking out her knife. Come forward! Her voice was slightly shaky, but she tried to be forceful. You, there! It appeared to be a figure with short hair, and Sita crept closer, knife still drawn at her side. Who are you..? But just as she draw close to threaten, she saw that it was only a girl... And Sita was ashamed.
Caliandra stood silent as someone, quite possibly the girl that was laying on the grass, came toward her. At the sound of the other voice, a female one, Caliandra started to speak. I'm..I'm sorry. I'm not from around here..I'm...lost. Lost, she mused. It wasn't too far from the truth. She lifted her arms in the air to show she was unarmed. I'm just..trying to find somewhere to stay..something to eat...something..anything... Caliandra's voice trailed off as she realized how pathetic she must sound. Lost and needy...and vulnerable. That was never a good thing...showing your weakness to someone who...well, was coming after you with a knife. For a second, Caliandra wished Tessa was there, just so she would know -someone- was on her side. Again, Caliandra called out into the darkness. Um...my name is Cj...she took a step back and adjusted her duffel bag on her shoulder.
Sita's eyes were wide as she lowered her stance considerably. She was threatening someone with nothing. I.. I'm sorry... She stuttered, then beckoned the girl over, slipping her knife away. I didn't mean to seem so cold. It's just... at night, or even in the day, this place is dangerous. Sita was thoroughly shaken that she'd scared the young girl so. Then she remembered the crisps.
Cj, I'm Sita Levesque. I live here. She sighed softly, still a little tense, and not any hungrier. I have some food, if you'd like?

Moo. Yeah, that's right. I said it. Moo.

Caliandra took a minute to calm down as the other girl apologized and introduced herself as Sita. Caliandra took a step closer to Sita, trying to hear her words clearly. No one else was around, but in the distance, Caliandra could hear sounds of the local wildlife. She frowned, not looking forward to spending another night alone in the dark. No worries. Caliandra said. It's not a problem, really...I'm just glad you aren't a murderer...at least I don't think you are. Caliandra chuckled softly. She could barely see the other girl as she squinted her eyes in the dark. At the mention of food, Caliandra smiled. It had been quite awhile since she'd eaten anything. She had given most everything to Tessa. Caliandra sighed at the thought of her sister, then looked up at Sita again. Well...if you have some to spare...I'd really..really...-really- appreciate it. She smiled. And if there's any place you know of where I could stay for the night, that would be nice, too...I don't have much money, but maybe I could trade something... Caliandra shivered and pulled at the sleeves of her sweater, one of many nervous habits she'd picked up over the years.
Sita shook her head. Over the years, she'd learnt for sure to take everything and anything she could get, aside from the shit out of someone's ass, but she wasn't that cold and she wasn't that selfish. She smiled and handed the bag of crisps over easily, without a seconds pause. Nah, no need. Call this a welcoming snack, eh? You'll be here a while. It wasn't a question. Everyone who was here would be here a while. Sita knew it. This place was acursed, and there was next to no way out. Hell knew how people got here, but sometimes it felt like the grounds liked to change around, and the path always got harder trying to leave, it seemed.
So, Cj, Sita offered, making conversation. You got anyone along with you on this joyride through hell?

It's all thanks to you, sex muffin. <3

Caliandra paused. Would she really be here for awhile? She was planning on just passing through. She looked around in the dark and figured that she would decide in the morning. Caliandra smiled and took the bag. Thanks...I need this. Really. She reached into the bag just as Sita asked a question. She felt as if her heart would shatter. Here she stood, chatting it up with a stranger while her sister was gone. Lost somewhere without food or water, shelter...anything. Cj sighed and looked up at Sita. I..My sister was with me. Tessa. But..she..I don't know. She was there one second and gone the next and I looked everywhere for her! But she was gone and..and..I'm not giving up on her..I'm not. But goddamn it, I'm hungry. And tired... Caliandra took a deep breath and wiped away the tears running down her face. She cleared her throat and forced a smile, even though Sita probably couldn't see it in the dark. So...where am I, exactly?
Sita smirked. Precisely? Nobody knows. She looked around, hand pressed to her stomach to try and calm it. The pain wasn't funny anymore, it had been weeks and she was still sick. This place isn't charted, most say it doesn't even exist. It's a legend. She shrugged, like this was as normal as saying the sky was blue. And by this point, to her, it was.
It's a wonder we end up here, she muttered, still audibly. She meant it, too. But in more than one way. Some of us wanted to get here... That's me. She sighed a little, not looking too pleased, her face twisted from her stomach bothering her. I came here to seek my family's legend. Then she frowned. Sure, she'd done a lot of work to be here, but how did others end up here?
So how'd you get landed here? Just get lost? She sighed and gave the girl a sympathetic look. If you did, I'm sorry, because there's no un-lost from here.

Arciero is my new best friend. Really. It's all I've been thinking about. Damn you! *shakes fist at the sky*
back in character // caliandra
Caliandra raised one eyebrow at Sita's comments on where the hell she ended up this time. A legend. An unknown secret. A smile tugged at the corners of Cj's lips. A little excitement in her day-to-day life of wandering around would be welcomed. An abandoned ghost town with mysterious girls in front of old theaters, good. Losing your little sister, not-so-good. Family legend...? Caliandra wondered aloud. She thought about her parents. Cj's children would know about their abandoned mother..who turned around and abandoned her own sister. That's if Caliandra ever decided to have children. Cj shook her head slightly. How could she care for young children if she couldn't watch over her own sister? Cj looked up at Sita as she said her last sentence. So what you're saying is...I'm stuck. Caliandra looked at her surroundings. With the sky growing darker, she could only see basic shapes, but she had liked what she'd seen so far in the light of the setting sun. Caliandra grinned at Sita. So be it.
Sita's grin was grim. The girl before her had only begun to see what Arciero truly was -- A nightmare. She swore to herself that she would do her best to protect Cj, but there was only just so much she could do. She couldn't be expected to babysit... This was precisely why Sita thought she'd never be a mother. She was crappy at keeping track of kids and protecting people. Corey protected her, not vice versa. She sighed and glanced up into the sky.
Caliandra looked up at Sita but couldn't see any facial expressions. She couldn't see much of anything, but Cj figured there was something she didn't know by the tone of Sita's voice. Erm...thanks, I guess...Caliandra's positive outlook came to a screeching halt. Did she really want to stay here? She had lost so much already, her parents, her home, and now her sister. Did she want to risk losing everything else? Cj thought for a moment...was there really anything else to lose? She sighed softly and figured that, no. There was nothing. Caliandra yawned, covering her mouth then adjusted the strap of her duffel bag again. It wasn't that heavy, but after carrying it as much as she had, it had started to rub against her shoulder, making it sore. It didn't hold much, just a couple changes of clothes that she washed as often as she could, a blanket, very little money, and Tessa's old doll. Tessa had treasured that doll and treated it as if it were more precious than gold. Cj sighed, realizing that Tessa would probably never see that doll again. Caliandra had travelled pretty far from where she had last seen her sister. It was very unlikely that Tessa would find her...or even survive long enough to try. Caliandra took a deep breath and looked at Sita. Is there anywhere I could stay for the night?
For some reason, Corey had escaped her mind. She was sinking back into that longing, the one that told her to go for a girl, to go for the person she wasn't close to. Fresh meat. No trust, but who needed it? Sita was dying to feel love at the moment. She wanted that feeling that made the sickness and pain go away. She wanted something to help her, to bring her away from the misery.
Well, we could go inside, and you could take a box near me and sleep, she began slowly. Then she smirked, hoping the girl would choose the next option. Or we can stay out here, since it's nice out and inside is stuffy. Your pick. She smiled sweetly. Only a true One would understand.
Wanna hear something stupid? *L*...I keep seeing [p], and for a moment, I swear it says "bj". Hahaha. Sad! Anyway..yeah. [p]. private. You want me all to yourself. ;)

Caliandra took a deep breath. Quite honestly, she wanted to go inside and stand on the stage and drown in childhood memories, but the thought of a dark Opera House scared her. Then again, so did the thought of being eaten by wolves. Caliandra figured that she would explore the Opera House the next morning but right now, she was exhausted. Cj had been sleeping outside a lot lately so she was pretty much used to it. She shrugged at Sita. Right here is fine. Just as long as I'm not alone... Caliandra mentally kicked herself, realizing that she was sounding needy again...But who cared now? Sita didn't seem half bad. Though, Cj thought, things aren't always as they seem...
Sita nearly laughed, and then she realised what the circumstance was. This wasn;t the time for sarcasm. She snuggled into her trenchcoat and chewed on her lower lip. She was exhausted, and she just wanted to sleep. All she wanted to do lately was sleep, though... Her stomach and her need to know what was going on simply kept her awake much of the time. She yawned softly.
You're not alone. But I'm tired, so d'you mind much if I pass out for a few hours?

I spent all day at the beach. Sunburned. It hurts. A lot. And I don't have any awesome Banana Boat After Sun Lotion (which you can find at a store near you)...but..I want some. It smells like coconut. o_O

Caliandra smiled warmly. No, that's fine. More than fine. Knock yourself out. She chuckled. Literally. Cj didn't really mind if Sita slept, just knowing that someone was near her made Cj more comfortable. The past couple days without Tessa had been hell. Walking around, looking for her sister exhausted her...but she couldn't sleep. Caliandra had trust issues, but for the most part, she knew when to stick around and when to just run. ...For the most part. The only person she had really felt safe with was Tessa. She felt she could rely on Tessa to always be with her...but now she was gone, too. Cj sighed and looked at Sita. I think I'll sleep, too...It's been...awhile. Caliandra looked around. We're not gonna get...y'know...attacked by anything........right?
Sita yawned and closed her eyes, head shaking slightly. Nah, not likely, she mumbled blearily, feeling very tired. She hadn't been sleeping well at all because of her stomach, and now that she was tired, she wanted to take advantage. She yawned again, softly. Wolves stay away from here, weres are underground right now. Then she smiled vaguely in Cj's direction. She couldn't remember anything about the girl, really, but she smiled anyway, understanding her fear.

Cj nodded at Sita. Okay, she wasn't going to be something's dinner...so Sita said. She yawned when Sita yawned and, as always, wondered why people yawned when people around them did. Caliandra shrugged slightly. She'd find out sooner or later. She always did that...wanted to know or do or say something that she always assumed she would figure out later. She never told Tessa she loved her...now it was too late. Cj looked over at Sita. ...Weres? She raised an eyebrow, then almost laughed out loud. Relax? How was she supposed to relax? Caliandra lowered herself to the ground and laid not too far from Sita. Cj made sure that she was arms length away so she could hear the comforting sound of another person breathing. Goodnight, Sita... Cj said. And soon after, Caliandra fell asleep, watching Sita's chest rise and fall in the dark.
