Washing What do you think is the best way of washing a rabbit? My rabbit isn't very old maybe around 6 weeks- 2 months. |

Washing...
Rabbits are very clean animals and they clean themselves about five times a day.
There are some special soaps for washing rabbits that can be purchased at Pet Shops, but they aren't really necessary unless your rabbit is extremely dirty. When I washed my rabbits I put them in a dry tub and then ran the water lukewarm. Then I took a small cup and sprinkled some water on their backs, once they were all right with that I poured it on until they were all wet except for their heads and ears (try not to let any water get in their ears). After I was done I set them in a pile of towels and wrapped them up like babies until they were dry. You may need a hand at keeping your rabbit in the tub, my rabbits took turns jumping out. Have fun and let me warn you that it is almost impossible to only give the rabbit a bath, they find it hard to believe that they shouldn't give you a bath. Bathing Rabbits You dont really have to wash your rabbits because they keep their coats very clean and shiny by themselves by licking it. They would probably prefer you not to get them all wet. In fact, most likely a rabbit would put up a fight and kick. You can help your bunny look nice by keeping his toenails trimmed, his ears cleaned, and his fur brushed. |
