He simply wasn't used to it; the arguing. Alexios had gone his last few years never having to confront anyone with different opinions to his own, simply because where he had been for the past few years, nobody HAD an opinion. He didn't care though. He'd always found that thinking about the past would always complicate the future, especially when the past was his previuos missions. Come to think of it, it felt more as if those missions had been some form of a test, or a preparation for something...
He shook his head, continuing his fast paced walk down the hall. What the woman had said was getting to him now. She had planted a seed in his mind. What was her name? Sadie? Stay? Sati? Oh, he didn't care, all he wanted was out. He'd only met one person in the place, and already he felt he knew what the rest would be like.
He turned left onto another corridor and stopped, looking around. He was behind the stage. There HAD to be technical equipment here, didn't there? He turned to his right and saw a room, labelled 'Storage #3'. Not placing any consideration into it, he quickly kicked the door down and walked inside. It was pitch black, but that meant nothing to him. His eyes trained in seconds, and he smiled at what he saw. Old amplifiers and decks. Possibly thrown in here because they were damaged, but who cared? As long as he could find all the stuff he needed from the boards, he could be repaired and away from this wretched place in no time.
He placed his helmet down and picked up one of the old boards, blowing the dust off it. It was very old, the connections for the sound equipment being fairly ancient compared to the connecters he was used to, but it didn't matter, so long as the elctronics were of the same style.
He knelt down in the dark on the durty floor and placed the board down infront of him, forgetting that the cupboard was now exposed as he started to run his fingers along the edges of the device to find some way of opening it up.
If it did open, the chances are, he would have found his required resisters. Then he would only need wiring, which wouldn't be hard to find in the cupboard, titanuim plating, which would be hard to find in the Opera house no doubt, but he had an idea for a source of the hardened material, and then he would need to find a fellow named Corey.
Corey...
He stopped what he was doing and frowned, realising he didn't even know what Corey looked like. With a sigh he closed his eyes slightly, before he opened them again and continued looking for a way to crack open the device.
There had to be a way to open it... didn't there?

...Hi. I'm new here..and um. I have no idea what I'm doing. You labeled it as anyone welcome..so..here I am. I have a feeling that you really want to RP with "Corey"..but..well. Sorry..? If you'd rather have "Corey" here..I'll delete my monster of a post. So..yeah. Hi. o_o

Caliandra walked through the front doors of the Opera House and took a deep breath. The doors were heavier than she thought, but she barely noticed. She was too busy thinking about the stage, almost hearing it calling her by name. Cj pushed the heavy door open just a bit, and squeezed her way through. Clawing away some cobwebs stuck to her short red hair, Caliandra almost whispered a meek ...hello? What little courage she had gathered before entering the Opera House was gone in an instant. It was dark here and Cj didn't like the dark.
She was shy and new to Arciero after landing here a couple days before. She hadn't met or even seen anyone but Sita. She knew there had to be someone else in this godforsaken...thing. Town? City? Whichever. Caliandra didn't really care. She was desperate to meet someone, get some answers. A map. A phone. ...But who would she call? Her parents had abandoned her years before and now she had lost her sister. Cj sighed softly. There was no point. She was stuck here. Might as well get used to it.
Finding some courage from somewhere inside her, Caliandra walked down the aisle between the seats, breathing in the air around her. It smelled like the theater, reminding her of acting and opening night excitement -- It smelled like home. Just like home...It had been a long time since Cj had thought about home. God, had it been 10 years already? 10 years since she had a place to call her own. It felt like it was just yesterday. How clichι.
It had been so long since she had seen a theater, much less been inside one and Caliandra was looking forward to standing on stage. Dancing, singing, something. Anything. Looking around, she noticed a few steps leading up to the main stage. Without another thought, she stumbled toward the steps, barely being able to contain her excitement. Her steps quickened and evened out as she walked from the back of the Opera House, to the front. By the time she was to the steps, she was running. She slowed again as she got to the stage, then came to a complete stop. She wouldn't get in trouble for this...right? She laughed at loud at herself. Who the hell was here to stop her?
Stepping out onto the wooden platform, she centered herself in the middle of the stage. She tugged at the sleeves of her sweater and started to sing a song her mother had sang to her when Cj was just a little girl. Her mother had learned it from her mother who had learned it from her mother and so on and so forth. It was definitely an old song, practically ancient...but that didn't stop Caliandra from loving it as much as she did. Continuing her favorite song, she sang out...I'll take your path, When darkness comes, And pain is all around, Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down, Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down....
No, it's quite alright Cassy. I'm pretty new here too, but welcome to Arcerio! And what you mean you have no idea what you're doing? You see to have gotten a major hang of it. That "Monster post" of yours is actually quite impressive.
Well anyway, enjoy your stay here, and have fun! ^_^
In character //
Alexios stopped what he was doing and listened. Singing. In this place? He put down the board in the darkness of the room and turned around, looking at the hallway outside,
"What the..."
Suddenly, the song that was being sung hit him, and he realised that he knew this song. He didn't fully understand why, but as he turned back to the board and continued to try and open it, he began to sing the last verse of the song,
"Sail on silvergirl, Sail on by. Your time has come to shine. All your dreams are on their way. See how they shine. If you need a friend, Im sailing right behind."
Smiling a little, he finally cracked open the board, the loud crack of the wood snapping echoing around the stage and through the seats. He grinned as he started to look through all the different connectors he'd made available to himself. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4 resistors, all of the same strength, which was a bonus. He quickly pulled them off the circuit board then stood up, placing the resistors into his pocket and looking around,
"Wires..."
As he continued his search through the pitch black room, he found himself inclined to sing more, the tune now stuck in his head,
"Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind. Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind."

Awww, thanks hun. I'm sure I'll have fun! You're a great writer...I just hope I can keep up! Here goes.
back in character // caliandra jade levin
Caliandra stopped singing, and sat down on the edge of the stage. She sighed softly then looked up and around the Opera House. What was that she heard...More singing? Cj had thought she was alone. Listening to the words, she realized that she didn't recognize them. Sure, she knew the tune...but the words were new to her. Was this the rest of the song? Caliandra had always felt that there was something missing...was this it?
Caliandra hopped down from the stage and went in search of the voice. Quite suddenly, there was a loud cracking sound and Cj jumped about a foot in the air. Laughing nervously at herself for being so frightened, she continued her walk down the aisle, calling out softly ...hello? For a second, Cj wished she was more like Sita. Brave, strong, not afraid to come after someone with a knife....Caliandra chuckled softly.
It wasn't too dark in the Opera House, but Caliandra couldn't see much. She had always needed glasses, but she couldn't afford them. All her money had gone to feeding and taking care of herself and her sister, Tessa. Tessa being top priority, of course. Ah, Tessa...where was she anyway?..
Caliandra squinted, looking around the Opera House, trying to find that voice. She was pretty sure it wasn't Sita...Sita's voice was soft and sweet, and...well. Female. The voice singing was most definitely male. Cj spotted an open door across the way from her. She walked slowly through a row of seats and finally reached the door. Looking in, she realized that it was much too dark for her to see anything. She took a step back and called out hello? Is there anyone in here?...
The singing had stopped, quite possibly before he had started singing, but it was only now that he noticed the other voice was gone. He stopped his searching and listened carefully.
Alex turned his head towards the door when he heard her say hello for the first time, but he didn't respond, thinking that she may have been talking to someone else. He turned back and continued to search. But when the voice came next from by the door, he stopped searching, and turned to face her. His orange eyes seemed to glow in the dark, like a cats eyes; they were the only thing visible inside the room, and though they didn't emit light, they didn't really reflect it either. They could just always be seen in the dark, which possibly which something to do with the fact that Alexios could see in the dark, just as well as he could in the light, but his eyes were slightly more sensitive in sunlight, though the pain caused was tolerable to him, and he very rarely let anyone know that his eyes did this.
Quietly, he responded to the voice, so as not to try and alarm the girl that he was seeing outside the cupboard,
"Uhm... hi there..."
To his own surprise, his voice sounded slightly nervous as he stood, only his eyes visible.

It's kinda short....sorry. o_o
back in character // caliandra jade levin
Caliandra stood in the doorway, seeing nothing but 2 bright orange eyes staring back at her. She stood silently, almost mesmerized by the orange glow. She thought of the orange tree her mother had planted in their backyard when Caliandra was a little girl. She had a picture of the tree with her, actually. The tree and herself, Tessa, and her parents. She could almost feel the warm sun beating down on her skin, the cool breeze blowing through her hair...
Hearing the male voice, Cj snapped out of her trance-like daydream and replied with ...Hi. Um..who are you? She didn't mean to sound so blunt and straight-to-the-point, but she was getting very anxious. She wasn't quite sure who was in charge of Arciero, or even if there was anyone in charge...but what if this guy was? Am I not supposed to be in here..or..? Caliandra had just gotten here and she didn't want to get into trouble. She liked Arciero...so far. She felt like she belonged here, like she was here for a reason.
Leaning on the frame of the door, she bit her nails, wondering who this guy was...and what he was doing, stumbling around in the dark.
At first he found himself nervous. Was she a higher ranked person in this place than him? Was this cupboard hers? But her last line settled his thoughts and he smiled a little, walking forwards towards the door, and into a part of the cupboard that was lit from the opening.
He smiled as he came into her view, a soldier, in quite different armour to a normal soldier's, but the armour was heavily damaged. he smiled a little at her, looking back into the cupboard,
"Actually, I'm not sure whether I'M supposed to be in here, but hey, that's life."
He turned back to her, looking her up and down, before frowning a little,
"Are you new here too? Judging by a few factors, you seem edgy or nervous..."

Caliandra smiled warmly. He wasn't supposed to be in here, either. Good sign. He wasn't going to kill her. ...At least she hoped not. The heavy armour worried her slightly. Not only could he kill her, but he probably knew how. The armour was damaged, she noticed. Maybe he couldn't hurt her. She chuckled slightly. Yeah, right. This guy could kick her ass and she knew it.
She grinned. We're such rebels. Sneaking around in places we shouldn't be. Realizing that this could be interpreted to mean many different things, Cj giggled.
Caliandra paused and frowned. Is it that obvious? She looked down at herself. Was it because she looked like she didn't belong in Arciero? No, she decided. It was the unsure manner in which she talked. It was all in the presentation. All her childhood acting jobs should've taught her that. She should try to sound like she was sure of herself. At least a little bit.
Standing with her hands on her hips, she barked So who the hell are you?
With a small grin, he turned back and grabbed some wiring, walking towads the girl slowly,
"You know, during military training, you're taught an important fact about gaining allies and avoiding enemies: During contact with an unknown person and potential enemy, you must always judge threats and threat factor. Right now, young lady, even if you were to produce a handgun, you are of no threat to me whatsoever, and no offence, but you're hardly in the position to defend yourself against the attack of a marine, be him simply a janitor, or a squad captain such as myself."
He'd now reached quite a close position to her, his eyes looking direct into hers,
"These wires I'm holding? I could kill you with them, most likely in one movement, 3 at the very maximum, and you wouldn't have time to react. So, next time you go to bark something at me, I would suggest you reconsider it."
After his serious sounding talk however, he smiled and slung the cables over his shoulder,
"As it stands though, I aint gonna kill you, or even touch you with these cables. Another lesson in the military ways, is that you should always try to make friends, before you make enemies. So in response to your rather rudely said question,"
he held his hand out with a pleasant smile,
"I'm Torez. Alexios Torez. And you are?"

Another reply for you! Sorry so short...Cj is..weird. *laughs*
back in character // caliandra jade levin
Caliandra raised an eyebrow at the young man standing in front of her. Hardly in the position to defend herself? ...Yeah, okay. So he was right...but did he really have to point that out? She tried to show no fear as he explained how he could kill her. She held her breath, waiting for him to reach out and strangle her. It wouldn't have been the first attempt. She stared at the man, her eyes never once avoiding his gaze.
With the end of his speech, she realized that she had been very rude indeed. Blushing slightly, she took his hand in hers and shook it once, firmly. I'm Caliandra Jade Levin...or just Cj. That works, too. It's um...nice to..meet you. Though it is a little strange to meet you in well, a dark storage room. She smiled, then sighed softly, staring at him. And I'm awfully sorry about my inappropriate behavior. I'm just a little... A little what? A little bitch? She smirked. A little...jumpy. Realizing that she was still holding his hand, she jerked it away quickly and shoved it into her pocket.
Unsure of what to say or do next, she looked into his glowing eyes waiting for him to say something...anything.
Omg, shortness, sorry! >.
Bit of a writer's block... or... erm.. RPers block, heheh ^^;;;

He shook her hand, laughing a little,
"Cj it is. Cool name though."
He watched, surprised, as she snapped her hand back then shook his head and laughed quietly to himself, before he turned back to the cupboard,
"As for meeting here in a dark place... yeah, it doesn't sound too right does it... but... to tell the truth... I couldn't find the light switch for the cupboard,"
he blushed ever so slightly before he just shook his head,
"I don't need the light anyway. I can see in the dark, just as well as you can see in the light. Oh, and don't apologise for your 'behaviour', there's no need."
He smiled a little, before getting all his stuff together and getting ready to leave the cupboard,
"So how long have you been here for, Cj?"

Caliandra smiled at Alexios, grinning. Cj? Cool? It's alright. She laughed. Thanks.
She looked behind him and saw the cupboard he had just mentioned. Are there even lights in here? She peered at the ceiling, but didn't see too much of anything.
She frowned slightly. No apologies? Well...if you say so. That was going to be nearly impossible for Cj. She apologized...a lot.
She returned his smile and answered his question. About a day or two, at least... Her voice trailed off as she looked around. She kept hearing noises, but figured it was just her overactive imagination. Glancing nervously behind her and to her left and her right, she mumbled, I've gotta get out of here... Remembering that she was in the presence of another human being, she brought her attention back to him. She tried to think of something to say, but she failed miserably. The walls seemed to be closing in on her. She stumbled over more words. Do you..would you..mind if I...we..well..maybe just me...She cleared her throat. Would you mind if we continued this conversation outside? At first, I didn't mind this place but it's really starting to freak me out...
Sorry it's taken so long. Had quite a lot on my hands, but I managed to reply now! Sorry sorry...
In character //
Blinking slightly, he looked at her for a few seconds after her last question. Outside. Outside meant away from all the equipment he needed. Oh great, now he was stuck in a position. If he said no, he would lose out on conversation, and it would be rude; something he knew he didn't want to be. However, if he said yes and went outside with her to talk, he would be away from the equipment he needed and would be delyaed. This was why he wanted to avoid getting close to anybody in this damned place.
The more friends he made, the less chance there was of him leaving Arcerio.
Still, in the spirit of kindness, he smiled a little and nodded, etching his rifle up his back a little more,
"Yeah, sure. You know anywhere comfortable outside?"
His question hadn't seemed right. "Anywhere comfortable" sounded as if he expected to sit down, with her. 'WITH' was the problem. Apart from the fact that it meant talkign and making a new friend, would she take it the wrong way?
HIs mind was drifting slightly. His story in the past had meant that he had no contact with females, although his mind knew the basics.
He shook his head slightly and smiled, blinking a little,
"Ah! Sorry, day dreaming there. Anyway! Outside, yes, let's. You lead the way."
That was a lie, he wasn't day dreaming. He was thinking, of all the wrong things. After all the intense training... and other stuff... he was still not managing to do one of the most important things he was told; NEVER take your mind off the set goal, don't give things the oppertunity to go bad.
And yet, here he was, ready to walk away from the only place he expected to find what was necessary to leave with.
And what for? To make friends... with a girl; a large mistake according to his old drill instructor.
Still, she seemed nice enough...

No problem-o. Just...forgive my crappy short post. I'm out of it today.. =\
back in character // caliandra jade levin
Caliandra raised an eyebrow at his question. Yeah, sure. There's the grass right outside, it's good enough, right? She grinned at Alexios. For a minute, he seemed distant. Like his body was there in the Opera House, but his mind wasn't. Caliandra wondered what he was thinking about, what he was dreaming of..if anything.
Cj smiled as he snapped out of..whatever. No need to apologize. Mmkay, let's go! She turned to leave the Opera House but then turned back around again. Wait...were you doing something important? Gosh, you must've been, stumbling around here in the dark. We can always talk later or something. Not that..I want to spend more time with you...Gosh, not that I DON'T want to...just...eh.
Cj mentally kicked herself. Yeah, good job. She told herself. She looked up at Alexios and forced a smile. Let's try this again. We can talk later, if you'd like. If you're busy, there's always later. Or tomorrow. Or something.
She sighed. What was wrong with her? She couldn't even form intelligent sentences anymore. She shrugged slightly and waited for his response.
Grr, stop apologising for the short posts and stuffs. Grr, they're fine >/
In character //
"No no! It's fine! We can go outside!"
'What are you doing Alex?' he questioned himself. His mind was telling him to tell the truth, come clean; he wasn't truly busy, but a part of him was telling him that he hadn't to talk to her. In this situation, friends were bad, girls even more so.
But the other part of his mind - the part that was currently winning this sub-conscious battle - was telling him that there was plenty of time to gather things. This girl had been sweet with him so far, not like Sita who had snapped, so why not at least return the favour and talk with her? Afterall, you guys might make good friends.
But mentally, he kicked himself. 'Ha, some soldier you are', he could hear the voice of his officers saying.
But for some reason, suddenly, there was an aura, not just around this girl, but around the entire place. It called to him, pulled at his legs and begged him to stay just a little while longer, even if it was just a few minutes longer, or a week, it was crying out for him to hang fire; that there was no need to rush away.
And for some reason, at this very moment in time, the aura was focused around this girl. It was crying in his ear, in his mind, 'go outside, and just... talk to her for heaven's sakes!'
And like a fool - or so a part of his mind was calling him that - he listened to it.
"Sure," he nodded, whilst putting the cables down on the floor finally, "Not busy, so let's go, that is, if YOU aren't busywith anything?"
Pulling at the sleeves of her sweater, Cj smiled softly at Alexios. It should be better outside, anyway...it's kinda stuffy in here. Caliandra laughed at herself. Trying desperately to make conversation. She was terrible at it. At least she didn't stutter this time.
She grinned at Alexios. No, hun. I'm not busy. Blushing, she continued. I was just exploring the Opera House..and the stage...She paused. Should she tell him? Risk sounding stupid?
She shrugged slightly and kept talking. The stage was calling my name...I used to do the whole child actor thing. She grinned as she tucked her short red hair behind her ear.
So, she said cheerfully. Let's go outside, shall we? Humming the song they had been singing earlier, she made a gesture with her arms that implied that Alexios should go first and she'd follow. She grinned. After you.
It's late at ngiht, I'm tired and heading to bed in a few mins, hence this post may be a little small and for lack pf a better word, pants. My apologies in advance for it, but, I'll try not to make it too vague. Just, please, excuse the shortness ._.;
In character //
He smiled at her comment about the stage calling her,
"Yeah, I do know the feeling about the stage calling, only, it wasn't the stage that caught my attention. It was a cupboard. Shows how dull my life is, doesn't it..."
Ge grinned, but knew well that it wasn't just the cupboard that was calling. The entire place was calling for him to stay, but as it stood, he had decided, there and then on the spot, that he would do no more than talk with this girl, and then that was that; he was leaving for sure.
The place was too... eery for Alex, and besides, he had jobs to do outside of Arcerio, like get back to base... and that was it...
He sighed very slightly as he thought. Who was he kidding? He had no family outside of Arcerio, no-one missing him and wanting him to come home. The only people that even knew he existed were the marines and...them, and neither would miss him.
Maybe he was best staying in Arcerio?
No way! He was a marine! Brought up to want to move around, not be tied down to a place!
...And yet... here he was, joking with a girl,
"Me first?? Wha?! I've no idea about this place!" he chuckled, smiling at her warmly. For a soldier, he sure could be a nice guy, "I've absolutely no idea WHERE the exit is, if I were you, I would NOT put us in charge of getting us out of this building!"

Hey! If you can apologize for short posts, so can I. So, moving on....sorry for this short post. XD
back in character // caliandra jade levin
Caliandra smiled softly. Oh, come on. It can't be that dull. You can kill people with a handful of wires...that's gotta count for something! She flashed him a grin.
Her smile quickly faded. What did she think she was doing? This guy could hurt her...Kill her! This couldn't be safe. Shrugging slightly, she forced a smile directed at the man in front of her. So what if he killed her? She wouldn't be left with the guilt. And really...who would miss her? Tessa left already..there was no one else left to care. Caliandra sighed softly and pushed all the negative thoughts out of her head...for now.
Standing in front of him, she crossed her arms over her chest. Are you really that lost? Cj laughed out loud. Well, I think I'm pretty lost, too. But, let's go anyway! It'll be an adventure. Hopefully we don't get eaten by wolves. She smiled weakly. Cj was trying to be brave, but she was failing miserably. Right. Let's get out of here. She looked took a couple steps in the direction she had entered, then looked back over her shoulder. Are you comin'?
x_X How about we don't apologise for anything anymore...?
In character //
With a chuckle he nodded and left the cupboard completely, stretching a little and shielding his eyes as he walked into the light. After a few seconds, he turned and faced her,
"My ability to kill people with anything I have available to me has nothing to dow ith my life being interesting. My life in general is very boring. My past, doubly so."
Liar. His past was deep and confusing, somewhat painful and sad, but he wanted nobody to know about it; partially because he didn't know all of his past himself either.
With a grin, he turned and pointed to a random door,
"Alright! I say that's the exit, out of this building, and into the open!"
He was being playful, kidding around with her. There was a sign above the door, with a diagram of a stick man running through the door, with the word, "Exit" written in big letters. He knew she'd see it, but that was the fun of it.
Smiling, he walked to it and grabbed the handle and looked at her, leaning on the door,
"So, are we just gonna stand around and talk about going outside, or are we actually going to do the unthinkable and GO outside, hm?"

Longer than I expected..I just started writing and...here ya' go.
back in character // caliandra jade levin
She smirked. Yeah, my past is pretty boring as well. Sure, she thought. If you count your parents abandoning you with your little sister after your child acting career went down the drain boring...And the whole wandering from town to town thing for 10 years? That was no big deal.
Looking in the direction his finger was pointing, Caliandra burst into laughter. Gee, ya' think? Giggling, she followed him. Let us be strong and courageous! Like...some famous duo of some sort. She grinned at Alexios. Let us explore the unknown! Linking his arm with her own, she led him outside into the light. Ta da! Welcome, dear Alexios, to the beauty that is Arciero. Looking around, she realized how silly she sounded. Arciero wasn't all that beautiful. Rundown buildings in a town that resembled a ghost town...or was a ghost town. But somehow...somehow they had ended up there. There had to be a reason for it...right?
She looked at Alexios and smiled. Isn't it grand? Fit for a king, I do declare! Caliandra laughed aloud at herself. She was being a complete dork. She hadn't acted like this in ages. Not since she had left Waterton a couple years back. That was the only other place she had felt....comfortable. Just like in Arciero. She felt like she could sit back and relax, be herself. The only thing missing now was Tessa..
Letting go of his arm, Caliandra walked around the grass and lowered herself to the ground, laying in the center of the lawn. Nice place, don't ya' think?
... My mum's been in hospital lately, and with everything happening, I've not had chance to write the post, or all of my brain to write a post with.
However, I've got a bit of time, so let's do this.
In character //
As they walked outside, Alex quickly raised his other arm to his forehead, shielding his eyes from the light outside, no matter how dim or sunny it was. After a few seconds, of her letting go of his arm, he finally lowered his other arm and blinked multiple times, as if adjusting to the new light.
Of course, an adjust to a new type of light level is perfectly acceptable, but Alex's adjustment took quite some time; much longer than it should have done.
After his eyes were adjusted, he smiled at her as she led on the lawn, before rolling his eyes and smiling,
"I can't say it's the nicest place I've ever been to, but then again, it's definately not the worst either."
He looked around. His previous outdoor observation of Arcerio had been in the company of Sita, but he had only payed attention to any sort of vantage point in or on the buildings that would allow him to either look around from to mark his surrounds, or allow him to reate a window of oppertunity that would allow him to escape.
This time however, he was looking around and taking Arcerio in as a place; he couldn't say that he liked the place, because that would be a lie, but then again, he would have been lying if e said he didn't like the place. It was a confusing feeling, but it made sense: his marine-trained mind was telling him to hate the place and to leave as soon as possible, but the human side of him was telling him that there was something more to this place, that it was went deeper than face value.
