The current month is Patchwall, the first month of autumn, 586.
An influx of visitors, exiles and merchants have arrived, due not only to the booming trade that is taking place in Greyhawk but it's apparent safety in this time of war and uncertainty. So there is still much activity and business even though war surrounds the Flanaess. Events, stranger than normal, have began to manifest themselves on the streets of Greyhawk. For the moment, no one seems to know how or why these bizarre occurances are happening, although it is only a matter of time before they come to the attention of the powerful and knowing.
| This inn, distinguished by its tall tower, pointed at the top like the hat of an old and eccentric wizard, is a favourite of the city's upper reaches. It is unprententious and not as expensive as most neighbouring establishments. The style of dress might not be as elegant here as the Patricians' Club, but it would be hard to find customers who are having a better time. Though the inn hosts no gambling activities, quiet games of chance between patrons are common. The standards of honour are high here and letters of debt are often accepted in lieu of immediate payment. The High Tower Tavern and Hostelry rents about half a dozen plush, reasonably priced sleeping chambers, each with maid service and private washing facilities. These rooms are always in use and are very hard to get. |
