Rules Thread (4/12/05)
Since there are so many new people I thought it would be appropriate to start a new thread…again.
If you break a rule, I'm just going to fix it, no warnings. Some changes you’ll notice and some you won't. If you keep repeating the mistake I'll let you know via e-mail so you don't feel embarrassed if I post the mistake on your thread. It'll be candid and pain-free!
The new rules and some of the other rules that haven’t been followed are in bold. But please take the time to read them all and reply. All I need is a…ok..gotcha…thanks…it’s not all that hard.

-Only ‘Spot Save’ if you are coming back within 24 hours. It will be deleted after 24 hours.
-We, as admins, try our hardest not to embarrass someone when they break a rule, but if you, as the person breaking the rule/rules, bring it into a public light and keep the situation going then basically all bets are off. If it continues, the admins will have a meeting deciding what should be done…(The last straw being banning the rule breaker) If we find out that the person is intentionally and deliberately breaking the rules, the banning process will happen sooner then later.
-Don’t post right after yourself, even when bumping. There’s an Edit button for a reason.
-The first post of every thread must be the start of the fic. Not an advertisement of an upcoming fic or 'would you read this..?' post. It will be deleted without notice. Only the admins have permission to start threads that pertain to other things.
-Don't take anyone's title without asking.
-Please do not put your title and/or update notice in all CAPS.
-When putting an update notice in your title just put the date. There is no need for New Update-Chapter 6-May 27, 2004. (5/27/84) is enough, everyone here knows what that means. If you update more then once in a day or more then one chapter, then and only then can you put the chapters.
-No symbols in titles, they tend to annoy people.
-No special notices like "CARLY! READ" or "Banner Added" they'll be deleted.
-An NC-17 warning is not mandatory, but it highly suggested. It's a great way to advertise and keep the little ones out
-Advertising in your signature is encouraged, but please keep it to ONE banner in your signature.
-Please also remember to keep that banner at a 300 x 500 pixel range. To check this put your mouse over your banner and right click the picture and look at it's properties. If you use your account other places where they allow huge signatures, simply do not use it here. This rule is universal here at BL.
-Please no fics with baby talk (ex- TRISTAN u da bomb. I luv u. Ur tha kewlest thang), unless specified in the first post as a mock.
-Beta writers are in the fan fic talk forum, you can request one there.
-When a fic is finished please label it "Completed" or "Finished" or "Epilogue" so I know it's finished to make room for other new stories.
-If you've given up on a fic, are moving, or become ill and you don't know how long it'll be before you update I encourage you to put "Vacation" or "Abandoned" next to the title so it doesn't get deleted or knocked off the end. E-mail me to let me know when to move it back
-Put a 1/1 in your title if you're writing a one parter.
-If you like someone's story REPLY!
-Constructive criticism is a great thing, but please only do it in an e-mail to a writer, not on the thread. Let's keep this a happy, loving environment.
-Plagiarizing is a HUGE NO NO. If we catch you plagiarizing here and it’s proven the fic will be deleted.
-Do not accuse someone of plagiarizing on their thread publicly, please e-mail me and a/the admins and we will take care of it keeping you anonymous.
-60 pages per thread. I'm going to close threads once they hit 60 without notice, you should know this rule by now.
-Please keep it to a maximum of five stories(more than one chapter) at a time in this forum. You may have others in vacation or other dc, this is to prevent crowding.
-NO conversations in threads. It prevents people who only read (like me) from either properly guessing where the update is located and ends up becoming super annoying. If you want to have a conversation use MSN, AIM, use the BL chat, or start a thread in the general forum. Your conversations will be deleted here.
-DO NOT POST IN ANYTHING BIGGER THAN SMALL! IF YOU DO YOU HAVE THREE WARNING EDITS AND THEN YOUR POSTS WILL BE DELETED!
