My name is Seth Jones. I live in rural Lawrence County on a farm. I’m from Dawson-Bryant high school and live with a family of five, which includes, my parents, my brother Noah, my sister Hannah, and myself. I also have another sister named Beth who lives in Wayne County, West Virginia with her husband Eric and her four-year-old boy Kyle. I am also going to be an uncle again in August.
There are many things I like to do such as: running, basketball, football, tennis, camping, swimming, canoeing, bicycling, and chess. I like to play video games too, but I usually only do that when I can’t find anything else to do. I’ve been in three races, one five mile and the other two 3 and 1/2 miles. They were all a lot of fun. Over the summer I went on some camping trips. Twice at Greenbo State resort park and once at Beech Fork. It was while camping that I learned to play tennis and although I haven’t mastered the sport I enjoy playing it very much. When Camping I went canoeing several times and had a great time. My dad and I took several bike trips from our house to Symmes Valley School, which is about fifteen miles. Then on our final bike trip for the year we rode to my sister’s house it is around twenty miles. It was an exhausting trip for me and my dad but we did not give up and finished.
At my home there are two horses, six goats, several chickens, four ducks, three cats, and three dogs. Two of the goats just had babies their really cute. One of the mothers won’t take care of her baby, so I get to bottle feed it sometimes his name is Mike. Occasionally I like to ride the horses, but usually I like to just pet them. Out of all the animals my favorites are the dogs and cats. I guess I like them the best, because they spend the most time with me.
This semester I’m taking Chemistry, Advanced Math, Statistics, and Spanish I I. Spanish is my favorite course. I like Statistics and Advanced Math equally well, but Chemistry would have to be my least favorite subject. Even though I’m not very fond of Chemistry I know I have to take it to improve my science skills which will in turn lead to a better ACT score and a better chance for me to get into college and get a good job.
