Hello
I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with MEN1 when I was 20 years old. When I was 22 I was told I had to have my parathyroids removed. I live in GA and no one here would touch me. I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester 2 separate times for the removal and research. My mother also has MEN1 along with ZE. She had 17 tumors in her stomach and pancreas that Mayo removed. She was in the hospital for 9 weeks and almost died. She now is doing better than ever and she gives me hope.

Every day I struggle with the fact I have this disease and there is no cure for it. I know that it will only get worse as I get older. I go to my endocrinologist every 3 months for blood tests and to be monitored for tumors. I stay depressed, my stomach constantly hurts, I put on a lot of weight in the past 3 years that I cant seem to lose.

I have a really hard time with deciding if I should have a child. Its hard to keep a relationship with someone who wants kids because I don't see it fair to them. There are so many things that I deal with and I am so glad that I have found a place to talk with people who know what I am going through.

I pray for you all as well as myself, and will always have hope for us all.
