Grad courses-needing recent academic evidence!
Hi all,

I am currently travelling and am looking to apply for graduate SLT courses when I return. I finished my degree in Physiology in July 2004 with a 2:1 and have been travelling since September 2004.

I was not planning on returning to the UK until September 2006ish..a long holiday I know! Anyway, I have been reminding myself recently of the courses offered etc and a lot say you need evidence of recent academic achievement , last 2-3 years. If I apply in September 2006 I wont start until 2007 which is 3 years and I was actually thinking of applying in 2007 for the 2008 start of year so that I could use the year out to get some more recent experience as an SLT assistant/volunteer etc.

Will this extra experience make up for the period of time between my degree ending and application? If I apply for the earlier start date, I have to rely much more on experience from 2 or more years ago (and healthcare volunteering I've been doing while travelling) and promises that I intend to work in the field before I start...does this all make sense?

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has heard anything regarding this kind of issue any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks. Vicky
