Game Twenty-Nine: 09/11/05
998,009 B.C. • Day 4
Children Returned | Is it Sentient Life?
The team took the four surviving children and headed back to the village. Jacob proceeded to take them to edge of their home so as not to alarm the tribesmen. Cleo was happy that the children were at last returned to their people.

Jacob was checking his Compuband© and Cleo noticed that he was conversing with it, he even had called it Simon. How odd she thought to herself, she didn’t know it was sentient. Cleo then typed in voice activation software and had it download the necessary programs to allow voice recognition activation.

Advancing towards the city, the group rested and accessed their situation and made plans on the upcoming mission.

Cleo had her Compuband©, now known as Kariotype, access the golden cylinders that she acquired from Peter Dorfman and found that once connected together, formed a vessel for storing blood. Once 30bp were retained, the user could then hold the device and it would spend all 30bp which could be used to magnify the user’s power for that action. Cleo could use this against Hirut, possibly destroying her once and for all. She also found out that both it and the cylinder she received from Nikolai were made of foreign substances. The atoms of the the cylinder contain 747 proteins and internally resembles the gears of a clock. Within resides a chamber to store blood that when activated releases something.

Cleo then cast her spell for bending wood. It had been awhile since she utilized this ritual and now she planned to use it on a regular basis as wood was in abundance in this period of time.

The group made their way to within miles of the city of Enoch. Jacob pulled out one of the weather balloons and was readying to activate it, but was unsure if it would reach its destination. Cleo offered to activate her telekinesis and aide in the guidance of the weather balloon. Jacob sent up the device and Cleo followed.

While in the air, Cleo spotted the great city of Enoch in the distance of the horizon, which seemed to be surrounded by various entrenchments that revealed many fires. She could also her great thumping sounds emanating from those locations, not to mention the blood curdling screams, which made her wary of what was ahead. Off to the side she could see a river that ran right into the city. Cleo pondered if this might be the best route for them to enter, as she didn’t relish the idea of traversing near the volcanic fire. At a second glance she noticed that the city was made up of volcanic ore, black in appearance and was surrounded by seven concentric walls that appeared to keep unwanted travellers at bay.

Cleo scanned the area with Kariotype and relayed that information to Simon to give to Jacob. As Cleo saw the weather ballon drift away into the distance, she decided to head back down as it would soon be daylight the group would need to find a place to safely rest for the night.

Everyone in the group readied themselves for the night. Cleo hurried into her containment bag, not paying attention to what she had been doing. Her thoughts were of the mission and not on her survival. As she laid waiting for the arrival of the deathly sleep that greeted her each night, she could suddenly feel the sun’s rays basking on the bag. She panicked as she had never felt this before. Something must be wrong. She quickly opened the bag and exited. looking over the horizon, she could see her unlife slipping away as smoke and dust were coming from her body.

Cleo then gathered together all her strength and focused on the job at hand. Remembering her Tremere disciplines, mind over matter. She laid the bag before her and proceeded to inspect it carefully. She found that it the zapper had caught on a piece of thread at the end. She quickly extracted it and climbed in and zipped herself back to safety as the suns rays baked the outside of her bag she drifted away into deathsleep.

998,009 B.C. • Day 5
The Nosferatu Undercity
When Cleo awoke she noticed the others staring at her as if to wonder if she was OK. Cleo wondered if they knew about her close call last night. The group gathered their items and made their way towards the forest.
A man was running towards the group and Jacob sped up to intercept him. Jacob noticed that the man was out of breath and worn out. Cleo arrived and asked the man questions and found out that he was running away from the city as he was being hunted down.

Eventually the man told Cleo his name, Nuuk.

He told her that his daughters were captured and kept in the city. When Cleo asked what happened to his daughters, he replied that Hirut was taken to the birthing chambers and B’ashou was kept as a servant for the emperor.

Cleo and Jacob were flabbergasted by the mention of these names. Hirut and B’ashou sisters?

This explained why B’ashou could hold her own against Hirut in their battle back in 1990.

Eventually, they were able to calm the man down and ask him to guide them to the city and in return they would rescue his daughters. He agreed. He mentioned that there was another route to the city, trough the underground where the outcasts lived. Nuuk mentioned his brother, who was banished to the undercity to never return to the topworld. Jacob thought this might be the beginning of the Nosferatu undercity.

After awhile they arrived at the cave where Nuuk left his brother many years ago.

When they approached. they could see that the cave was covered in moss, Cleo sensed it was sentient and similar to that of the jellie that was in residence in the underground tunnels beneath Bricktown.

Jacob forged his way ahead but was almost overcome by his fear of the claustrophobic feel of the engulfing lichen around his body. Cleo followed next and was able to push ahead of Jacob without a care or concern. The group arrived at a dead end rockface that opened to reveal an extensive underground passageway. The guards on the other side immediately questioned the party. Cleo activated her auspex telepathy and was soon communicating with the guards. At first they were out off by this intrusion but quickly guided them to the raft that would take them to their queen.

They travelled the underground river for a time then arrived at another landing. As Cleo made her way off the raft, she and the others could see an inverted city that was an exact replica of the city of Enoch up above.
Cleo saw women that had sashes over their eyes and sensed that they too were able to commune with telepathy. Their were thousands of people down here and Cleo wondered what creature was in charge of all of this.

Then the guard forced the party towards a room that was vast and seemed to resemble in mock fashion an underground royal court. Inside were various attendees, but no sign of the queen herself.

Soon, Cleo could hear the gongs that were thunderously activated which signalled the arrival of the queen.

“ALL HAIL, QUEEN GUTKA,” bellowed the guard.

That name rang a bell with Cleo and she soon remembered with she heard it from. This queen was in Katrina’s lineage. She told Jacob, who was now growing ever more concerned by their predicament.

Gutka was enormously hideous and had huge eyes that no longer resembled a human’s. Her eyes were surrounded by salt deposits, hence her name the salt queen.

She slithered over to the far side and carved out a huge chair from the volcanic rock with her bare hands.

Cleo activated her earring of mind assault protection and increased her generation to a sixth level vampire by calling upon her blood and using her thaumaturgical disciplines.

Gutka entered the other’s minds but could not penetrate Cleo’s. Gutka seemed surprised that she could do this and exited her chair to advance towards the group.

Cleo was then able to communicate with her while maintaining her control over her will. Gutka asked Cleo what they were ding in her city. Were they spies from her enemies? Cleo responded that the only sought to enter the city above by way of the underground city.

Gutka hissed and contemplated on what to do with them while Cleo tried to assure her they meant no harm.

“Should I destroy them, or let them go?”
“Should I eat them, or let them go?”
“Should I keep them, or let them go?”

She slithered off while asking herself these questions then commanded the guards to take them to the pool of despair.

The group was then directed towards another raft which took them to an island that held the pool of despair within its grasp.

None of the party notioned the idea to enter the pool within the room that was filled with gold throughout.

Soon the guards arrived and Gutka could be heard wheezing and slithering down the corridors of the undercity. When she arrived Cleo could see that she was consuming various individuals. This frightened her and she made her way to the back of the group.

Gutka told the group that they must exit her city now, or be eaten where they stand. But first she revealed from under one of her arms, a leather container that contained documents that the group were told to give to Kausawn, child of Sutekh. Cleo knew that Sutekh was a Settite and this could possibly be a dangerous meeting as Settites could never be trusted.

The group quickly decided to leave and were escorted to the topworld by two guards. They guided the raft up stream towards the city above.
When Jacob opened the covering, it revealed a beautiful and vast city above where there many people from various backgrounds.

Everyone within the group marvelled at the city that was before them, Enosh.
