Game Thirty-Two: 10/09/05
998,009 B.C. • Day 7
New Alliances | The Search
Cleo woke the next day and noticed that Marcus had already left for the day. Cleo decided to utilize this time to have a look around his plaza with Samantina in tow.

Cleo suddenly sensed a familiar voice in her head, it was Jordan Bingham’s. “What… are… doing here?” “Abducted… must… cannot… Damien… on the mountain.” Cleo then asked where he was. “At base of mountain being taken to Shadom.” Cleo replied that they would come and rescue him, but no answer. Cleo was now worried that this lessened their chances for success in their battle against Hirut.

As Jacob and Jeremiah were attending to keeping Marcus’ ghouls busy, Cleo and Samantina ventured around upstairs. The two searched the area and the only thing out of the ordinary that they were able to find was a temple, which Samantina entered and found nothing of relevance.

Cleo could hear Marcus return his meeting with the Mekhetim. He also brought back Oras, the deceiver. Cleo and Samantina were able to quietly sneak back downstairs without being noticed.

Jacob and Marcus then called everyone to join them in the main room of the plaza. It was time to devise a plan for the rescue of the young Hirut and Ba’ashou from their locations within the city. Hirut was in the birthing chambers where Jacob and Oras would be going to retrieve her. Cleo and Marcus would pay a visit to Kausawan at the Setite temple to inquire about the Setite that had captured Jordan. Everyone agreed to their tasks.

Jeremiah asked if anyone had seen Samantina. Cleo turned to face where she last was and there was no one there. Cleo seemed dumfounded. “She was just…“ “Oh where has she gone now?” Jacob stated that she probably had gone off on her own again.

Jeremiah elected to stay behind in case she returned. The others went upon their designated missions.

After making their way to the third circle of Enosh-called-Gomorrah, the two headed to the Setite temple to visit Kausawan.

When they entered the temple, Cleo could see several individuals writhing on the floor like snakes in ecstacy. They were performing ritualistic dances and orgies that emanated from the center where there was a iron cauldron. Cleo wasn’t sure if she mad the right idea to com here here or not.

Across the room, she saw Kausawan conversing with two other Setites. She motioned as to get her attention. No reply. Cleo then pulled out the bag of gems and began to run them through her hands. This seemed to grab her attention as she quickly darted over to where Cleo and Marcus were. “What brings you to the Setite temple, uh, Cleo, is it?” “Yes, I was wondering if you were interested in more gems?” Kausawan shoved Cleo’s handful of gems back into the bag and replied “Not here…” She then began to escort Cleo back to her office. Marcus seemed out of place. Cleo told him he could stay outside if he liked and was relieved.

Cleo entered Kausawan’s office and again pulled out the gems. “ I have come to offer a trade.” Kausawan asked Cleo what she had to offer in trade and Cleo replied, “Information…”

“I need information on someone who was abducted at the base of the mountain recently.”

Kausawan acknowledged that she had heard of this Setite and that some unfortunate poor soul had been ensnared by the one Cleo was asking about. Kausawan agreed to relay a message within her clan that someone would try and acquire this ‘Jordan’ from the Setite so as not to annoy the whole clan. Cleo agreed and offered some of the gems.
Cleo then pulled out the container that was given to the group from Gutka, the Likid queen.

After Kausawan opened it, she pulled out a message and emptied the container’s other remains on the desk. It was a finger of the unfortunate individual that was used to write the message to Kausawan.
Kausawan turned and walked behind Cleo. She brought her taloned fingers to Cleo’s neck and told her that the message had instructed her to kill the deliverer of the message.

“Tell me why I shouldn’t kill you then…”

“Because really, that’s no way to do business with someone who can provide you with more merchandise that you desire,” replied Cleo.
“I suppose you’re right,” responded Kausawan.

Cleo offered a great ruby from the bag and this seemed to excite Kausawan. “For me?”

“Yes, for all that you’ve done.”

Kausawan decided that that particular gem would look perfect on her statue of Sutek, where his eye was.

Cleo then made her way out of the Setite’s office. Kausawan asked if she was interested in joining her clan and Cleo quickly told her that this wasn’t quite her thing. Kausawan bid her goodbye and Cleo was off back with Marcus as they headed back to his plaza.

When the two made their way back to the plaza they were met with Jacob carrying the younger Hirut, who was highly medicated on some strange herb. So, Jacob was successful in his mission…

Cleo tended to Hirut and told Nuuk about her return. He was overjoyed at seeing his daughter again and cradled her in his arms.

The group reconvened as they were readying to meet with Mehket to ask about be able to take the young Ba’ashou from her.

Jeremiah was told to stay behind again. He seemed annoyed that he never got to partake in the fun. Jacob replied once again that someone needed to stay to protect Nuuk and the young Hirut. Jeremiah agreed to stay.

Cleo listened to Oras talking to Marcus and it reminded her of a voice from her past, her forgotten past. She suddenly remembered everything about her mission to the Tremere that she was sent to infiltrate by her grandfather, General Monçada. She also remembered his Pricus, a Tzimisce that was helping plan her mission where her memory would be wiped and she would become a Tremere to help take down the Camarilla once and for all.

The group made their way to the palace.

When they entered, they could see many important officials from the city. One such bureaucrat approached Cleo and commented that he had never seen such a beautiful Usherite before. He had assumed she was of the clan as she was wearing an outfit that she had purchased earlier on her way back with Marcus. He gave her his card and told her to look him up if she was interested.

The group then proceeded towards the Mehket’s chamber.
Once Mehket arrived everyone could see that she was tire and worried. After conversing for some time Jacob managed to persuade her to give Ba’ashou to them. Mehket had replied that perhaps everything was coming to an end and that she would be leaving also. This shocked the two Mehketims. Was there god this weak?

Cleo grabbed Ba’ashou and she seemed vacant. Cleo then tried to communicate with her but found that she was an empty vessel.

Everything that was Ba’ashou was gone, a blank slate. Jacob then picked her up and carried her on his shoulders. The group the headed back to the plaza.

When they entered, they saw everything was in a shambles. Blood everywhere. Cleo bent over and tasted the blood. It was Jeremiah’s. Marcus replied that this looked like the work of the Likid as animals were used for the attack. Jacob turned and saw that written in blood on the wall was the message that the Likid did indeed have Jeremiah and Samantina. All of Marcus’ ghouls seemed Ok and accounted for. Jacob announced that he would go and rescue them alone and then spouted that it was his destiny or something ludicrous.

Is this how it was to end for Jacob Matteo?

A battle with Gutka?

Not a bang, but a whimper?

Or did Jacob have some other plan up his sleeve?

Cleo returned to Nuuk and his daughters. She looked at the young Hirut and was afraid of what she had become. Could Cleo have travelled down this path if she hadn’t gone on the mission for Monçada?

Looking at Hirut, Cleo remembered what image she saw going through the portal, that of herself. Could she have been cloned by the Tzimisce, Pricus? They were known for such things.

Or was it something far more worse…

Re: Game Thirty-Two
the message in the cyllander said more than that... though maybe you didn't want to post it here. Also, it wasn't that Gutka wanted you dead so much as she wanted Kau Sawan to eat your ashes.
