Game Forty-Four 04/23/06
Cleo was waiting with Lucas in the lobby of Desmond Faerber’s industrial complex after accusing Julius of stealing a painting of Samal from Elysium, not mentioning ransacking several rooms in the process.
As she was getting ready to leave, in walked a German man by the name of Karl Eickman accompanied by a mummified German male with a monacle, known as Hans. Mr. Eickman seemed to know Julius and Cleo. She couldn’t place where they had met before as he stated that he knew about her, which left Cleo at a disadvantage.
Unexpectedly for the group, he readied to strike everyone in the room. Cleo’s instincts clicked in and she sensed they were in danger.
Cleo called upon her auspex to read both Mr. Eickman and his assistant.
Suddenly, Mr. Faerber jumped in front of the two parties and claimed dominion. Karl’s assistant pulled down his monacle and Cleo could see the blood boil behind his eye. Julius was reaching for something. Karl told Julius to step back and head towards the car. The large man dug his fingers into Julius’ arm and carried him away.
Cleo forgot what she was doing as Desmond claimed ‘The second tradition of domain must be upheld!’ Cleo felt in awe by Desmond Faerber. Jut the powerful type of vampire she knew she could work with in the future.
Auspex on Karl Eickman:
She caught a faint murmer of great age, secrets within secrets. Extreme excitement by his recent actions. ‘All my little ducks in a row.” She caught the glimmer of a dome that she had seen not so long ago. Filled with ghosts in a different plane, but there nonetheless.
Cleo felt a chill around her neck, one similar to that when she was around Samantina. It was Lucas using his obtenebration powers as the Lasombra were well adept at. Darkened shadow swept the room as it swallowed two of Faerber’s ghouls. Everything in the room was washed over by the black entity.
Karl left the room with Hans but Cleo could hear him enter her mind.
She was having none of this game. She tugged at her ear to press the earring, just as she heard him say “So you are…” and nothing.
Cleo then heard an alarm and saw one of Desmond’s ghouls walk straight past her. She could see that Lucas was making threatening advances towards Desmond and his ghouls. Cleo called upon her obtenebration and was able to project her presence via her eyes through the tenebraeous darkness. She looked at Julius and asked him what he was doing.
Karl Eickman reenetered the room and looked at Cleo she could see his desire to attain a gold medallion and then she saw, “No, it couldn’t be… the temple?” How did he know about the temple? “Of course, that would explain what she saw in his mind about the dome.” Karl squinted and looked at Cleo as if he was trying to enter her mind. She looked upon him with amusement. “I’m sorry, are you constipated,” she replied?
Cleo asked him what he wanted. He replied that she must give up the fulcrom that she could not possibly understand what it does. She scoffed at his arrogance.
Suddenly the shadow cone shifted towards Karl Eickman.
One of Desmond’s ghouls escaped the inky blackness and was disoriented. Cleo heard a shot and turned around to see Julius holding a gun aimed at Karl. Karl replied, “As I was saying…”
Second auspex on Karl Eickman:
Karl was filled with terror as the darkness closed upon him.
Cleo called upon her obtenebration to enter the darkness to see what was happening to Eickman. He was saying in German, “What form of witchery is this?” "Since when has the Lasombra been part of the Camarilla?”
Suddenly light encompassed the room, Lucas’ inky blackness dissipated to around Lucas. Almot instinctively, Cleo protected herself. The shadows retreated to real vision. Auspex sensed a deeper power brewing from within Eickman.
Cleo called upon her blood thaumaturgy to steal a smiling Karl Eickman’s blood while he was unaware. Cleo takes 4 bloodpoints from Karl. By doing so, Cleo felt her strength and fortitude increase. She tasted the blood of an ancient and she would have to analyze it soon as she had the chance to do so. At this time she decided to vacate the surrounding area and head back towards Julius as she reflected upon what she gleamed from Karl’s mind. Reflecting upon what she knew in archaeology, she tried to remember something about the gold medallion. It was seen twice by Cleo in a simpler form and was used on detractors of the Black Hand. It was on the side of the Palace of Cain. It is an ancient power symbol.
Lucas ran towards Cleo. She moved to one side as she sensed that he wasn’t actually coming towards her, but rather running away from Mr. Eickman. She could see the darkness return, but this time she was prepared for it and could see everything. It was eminating from the next room where Lucas was.
She decided to take some time to analyze Eickman’s blood to find out more about him. She saw from the corner of her eye Eickman turned to stone and started making his way towards her and Julius. She wriggled the blood over her palette to sense the creature’s blood. This was the strongest she had ever tasted. The blood was given by Vait’hara tuii (Vedhartha/Ventrue Antedeluvian). The blood was given to him at about the birth of christ . He was Vait’hara’s last child. He lived in a place as a barbarian before the Roman Empire or the Greek Empire in N. Europe. In Germany. Tempest surrounded the city and the symbol dangles above and is worn by everyone. 4th GEN. Fortitude of 8. The blood was in extreme excitement when he was taken by his sire. Most of the blood’s intent was on Julius + excitement about Cleo. She sensed that he had an urgency to destroy Julius.
The Alarm was activated and Desmond had contacted the Prince to notify him about the siuation. Troops were on their way.
As Karl Eickman was approaching, Cleo came up with the idea of lifting this stone mass with telekinesis and dropping him through the floor. But Karl quickly reverted back to human form and was making his way once again towards Julius, unfortunately Cleo was in the same path. Karl stopped and stared at Julius and said in Enochian, “Recite your prophecy!”
“Hasamael’s eyes shall open and the 13 plagues shall spill upon the five planes,” spoke Julius in Latin.
Mr. Faerber decided to use his presence upon everyone to stop their actions. Cleo stopped what she was doing and turned around to face Mr. Faerber as she felt compelled to do so. She noticed that Julius was getting ready to charge at Karl with his weapon, a hammer. She felt that she should tell him what he was getting himself into. She told him that Eichman was a 4th GEN vampire with massive amounts of fortitude.
“And upon the fulcrom, the weave shall part,” bellowed Karl Eichman.
Lucas’ shadowform came out from the shadow as Julius was charging towards Karl Eichman.
Cleo decided enough was enoough, and created a force shield around herself, which she was quite successful at. Lucas’ shadowy hand thrusted towards Julius.
Cleo walked towards Karl and Julius with her force shield still active. Hopefully, this would protect her from any harm. Then she heard tiny whispers from Karl. Cleo responded by opening her mind as he stated that she was not to interfere with this. He called her mistress, and in a tone reminicent of Cariotype. “How was this posssible,” she thought to herself? As she advanced towards the two she could feel that Julius was using all his willpower to keep himself together.
Cleo went up to Karl and told him to stop and end this once and for all as he was in violation of the masquerade and that many vampires would soon be there to intervene. Karl stopped what he was doing and turned around to everyone, expressing his apologies at what happened and asked to further talk to Desmond Faerber aboutt matters. Suddenly, Julius disappeared from the room. Karl asked “What is the meaning of this?” “Where has he gone?” No one acknowledged. Cleo could see Karl fighting back his inner desire to frenzy.
Julius came over and invited Cleo to join him, but she declined and told him to proceed by himself. She then returned to matters at hand with Karl and Desmond. Desmond asked for her to attend their meeting in the secured conference room. Cleo agreed.
Karl revealed that Julius was wanted by the Camarilla. Cleo knew he was lying. Karl recommended that the justicars take care of this matter. In her mind she heard him say “You know why you are here.” He then took a moment to call on his cell. “Has he been found yet?” “Extend the perimeter. He must be found.” Looking back at Desmond Faerber he stated, “I belive you find a new person working the front desk of Elysium.”
Cleo asked Karl what he intended to do about the Sabbat. He replied to her in her mind, ”By using my initiative, just as you would.”
“Many dangerous things will come.” She saw images in Karl’s mind of scrolls in Enochian with tomes describing Julius. She asked again about why he sought Julius. He said that she would know if she had the right security clearance. “ARE YOU LEVEL FIVE?” Cleo replied that she had seen many things that even he could not fathom. He replied “Of course, I have read this history you speak of.” She then replied, “While you read the written word of what happened in history, I lived it, and before you even existed!”
There was a loud explosion outside and soon the police were in the area. Karl went outside to take care of the situation. The police were dominated by him to leave. To one of the officers, Cleo heard him express, “I like you hat by the way.” Cleo thought that only an uber Nazi would love a policeman's outfit. Or perhaps he was gay too?
Soon, the meeting was adjourned and Cleo was given a lift back to her place. Desmond asked her if she wanted to attend a Ventrue Ball the next night. She agreed, as it would once again put her into the eye of those who were influential in Alexandria. They traded business cards and soon she was off, heading back to her chantry. Jason Lee drove her to her chantry and after she got out and saw him leave, she called the Prince to let him know about what happened at Desmond Faerber’s house.
The prince also asked her to the ball and she said that she would cancel her date with Faerber and go with him instead. She also agreed to let him know about whatever she would find on Mr. Faerber. She asked him about Karl Eichman and he replied that he was very powerful and that she should be careful around him.
She entered the chantry and asked her postulants what they had learned. Ana had progressed to a dominate 3rd level.
Later Cleo asked if anyone knew anything about Karl Eickman and T’kue stepped forward to check into his background by tapping into her auspex via the node.
Cleo then called Alexi through her auspex. She also asked her about Eickman. She knew very little as she was usually inside a chantry learning blood magic. Cleo also told her that she was getting in good graces with the Prince and was helping the Tremere presence by ingratiating herself to those who are in power, the Ventrue. She told Alexi that the Tremere needed to change their appearance and to start attending these functions as this would help them further their cause. Alexi commented that since the Nosferatu was taking to robes that maybe it was time or the Tremere to do otherwise…
