Driving Them All Away //private
Out of Character
For Faith, who has a cool name.
Back in Character
Acid was bored. Really bored, and since the new moon was coming up soon, he was surprised to see the lack of mutants hanging around. Around the full moon they would disappear, but it was an odd occurance for them all to be gone while they were feeling good. This was deffinately weird, and Acid was not liking it one bit, if they had all left, or worse, the leader couldn’t help but feel responsible. It was true, they had a lax sort of hierarchy, everyone just came and went as they pleased, but this was just outrageous. He hadn’t even seen Sylvia lately, and she had always been loyal to Agnosti.
With this in mind, Acid headed towards the fields just a few miles from the train station. Agnosti had been falling through the cracks since the beginning. There was nothing for them, the first aid was questionable, the support was pushed aside, and the people never liked each other, even from the beginning. There was a lack of trust, and Acid never thought of himself as untrustworthy. The problem, he now saw, as was that he hadn’t opened up enough. There was no one there to open up to though… The cycle was nerve wrecking.
Ok, so now Acid was in the fields, walking around the cornfields, with nothing to do. He knew he’d find something to do, but what. What to do was a question that gathered in Acid’s mind often. His father always used to say that only boring people were bored, but Acid oculdn’t help but think that his surroundings made it such, not him. There were no arcades, there were no clubs, there was nothing. He could go play with the dogs that used to hang around in that downtown area, but he was too far away from them. Blah.
He just kept walking, something exciting would catch up with him, he’d make sure of it.
And instead of wishing that it would get betterooc
Sorry for the wait. I went on vacation
Man you’re seeing that you just get angrieric
Destiny paced the Fields, or rather a very small plot of land located on the Fields, rather irritated with the current situation she had placed herself in. It was nothing major, she never put herself in major trouble that she couldn't get herself out of easily. It was just that she'd come here and was straight at the bottom of the chain. Not that she should have expected or even imagine anything different - she hadn't. But she was unused to the idea that she wasn't in charge, wasn't used to letting someone else carry the world on their shoulders.
And then there was the absence of the halflings around the full moon. She'd just gotten used to the idea that the stupid things had to be here at all, and they disappear on her. Simply marvellous. Bad enough that they are humans - she shuddered at the thought - for most of the time, but now they also just poof out of existance once in a while? Great. An exageration, of course, but still.
So she had found herself in the Fields, agitated for no terribly pressing reason and generally in a bad mood.
She pushed through bushes and walked into the cornfield, brushing things aside with her sensitive muzzle. She was growing increasingly aware that her white pelt probably stood out in the dark like a sore thumb. Oh, well. Didn't matter much now, she needed something to occupy her anyways. She paused, ears pivoting forward and to the sides, trying to catch a sound she'd just heard. Footsteps, that's what it was. Her mouth curled into a lupine grin as she began to slink forward instead of shove through.
A human walked around near her, and her cobalt eyes glinted cruelly. She waited for the right moment and leapt out of the bushes just where and as he was taking a step.

Bored, restless, and alone. Acid couldn't think of anything more pathetic. As his father used to say, only boring people get bored. And that was what Acid had been reduced to, a boring person. Of course, that wasn't really Acid, how could anyone say that Acid was the least bit boring? If you'd met him you would see other wise, that he always had something on his mind, that he was always doing something, so what was different about today?
Nothing really, aside from the absence of his cronies. Where had they all gone? It really was bugging him; he couldn't stand the thought of all his werewolf rejects leaving him. Where would they go anyway? Surely they had not left him and founded some new little clan where the only rule was 'no acid's aloud'. That couldn't be the deal, not at all. It just didn't sound like the kind of thing that they would do, but at this moment, it was more probable than not.
And as his mind wandered into thoughts of 'no acid's aloud' and 'kill acid's on sight' something became more apparent to him. The scent of a strange creature. A wolf, in fact. Acid's sense of smell was more dominant now, and always was really. At first the human senses started to developed like normal kids would, but then it changed and when he approached puberty his sight dulled to the degree that he would have to wear glasses the rest of his life, and then his sense of smell dominated everything. So yeah, he could smell the wolf. Damned LACT had done this too him, but at least now he could run away without the wolf even seeing him.
Ahh, not a chance to run away. As he began to quicken his pace a white wolfess appeared in front of him. This seemed a little out of character for a wolf. Usually weren't they in packs? And uh.. Didn’t his camp leader tell everyone that 'they are more afraid of you than you are of them.' this didn't seem like the case today, because Acid was freaked out! And aside from that, the wolf didn't seem scared, it seemed pissed off by the mere sight of Acid.
"Good wolfy... just... stay back a minute" Acid muttered, although he knew for a fact that the wolf could not understand him. Why was it so mad though? It wasn't like acid had invaded her territory, heck, he would have known if that was the case. Maybe wolves just didn't like humans, and by now knew that they could take advantage of them. play with them. Send shivers down their spines and then leave with some morbid sense of satisfaction. Whatever it was, Acid was scared.
Scared? Well, yeah, it was nearly the new moon and a chance of him really being able to communicate with her were slim to none so... he should run. run, yeah, that was a good idea, no! if you run they have something to chase. So... Stay still? Maybe she won't see him. Yeah, wait no, dinosaurs were motion sensitive, not wolves. But still, Acid couldn't bring himself to run, he just stood there.
Maybe the wolf would lose interest. seemed like that’s what happened to all the people he came in contact with.
edit the spelling and grammar was really really bad..... i fix!

The Human had the virus, that much was certain to the white wolfess, as did most other Humans living in the area. He had noticed her seconds before she had come upon him. Not fast enough though, she snickered to herself, a lupine grin upon her maw and cold cruelty glowing in her eyes. He had almost run, gotten away. Stupid Human. She knew he wanted to.
The Human mumbled a bunch of hogwash that began to hurt Des's head practically before it began. She hated peoplespeak. It had too much range, of highs and lows and always a few syllables that were between the two. She shook her head to try to get the noise out of her head, a low growl coming from her throat that was more of irritated frustration than an actual threat.
He stopped and she looked him in the eye. He stood dumb with indecision. She could practically hear his thoughts, the wheels in his head churning with effort he probably didn't think he should have to be using on such a calm night. The thought amused her. He probably was trying to think of a way to get away, or maybe pondering which of the natural responses he should use, fight or flight. Attack or flee. But no way he would fight her. That would mean almost a promise of getting bitten, and with that promise came the knowledge of him Turning. Going from Human to Halfling didn't seem like any Human's idea of a good time.
The Humans didn't seem to realize that their fear gave the four-legged hunters leverage. Most wolves knew of this insane obsession with safety the Humans harbored, and most were willing to exploit it. Showing up at inopportune times, snapping at passerbys, walking near children, all of these were pasttimes Destiny enjoyed. Bored? Scare a Human. They won't do anything about it anyways.
The Human was just standing there. Destiny took a dominant step forward, snarling as she did so. Then she began circling, going around him so she cut off civilization and, if he ran, he would go right into the cornfields. In the cornfields she was queen, at least for this one.

A crazy wolf. That was what Acid concluded was what his encounter was. It was with a crazy wolf. Usually wolves just left the humans alone, and the humans left the wolves alone and everything was hunkydory, so why change anything now? This wolf had some emotional issues it seemed, for she was just standing there, ready to attack, and when she took a step forward and snarled, well... Acid was just about ready to cry.
He'd had encounters with wolves before, but always in his werewolf form. They would talk, they would tell him to go away, he'd say ok, and everything was fine. Wolves were cool with him! for the most part, what was wrong with this one? It's not like Acid said anything to hurt her feelings, how could he? He didn't know how to talk 'wolf'. And yet, he had to do something now. But... what?
Aha! His watch. He unhooked it from his left wrist and jingled it in front of him, as if to say see the watch? yes, you want the watch don't you? and he tossed it aside, hoping that the wolf would look away and fetch the watch, he could have a chance to get away. It was a meager attempt, and it killed him to throw the watch that his father had given him… but hey, he was ready to run, but what kind of human can outrun a wolf?
