Backstory

The characters, through a series of strange events, have ended up one million years before 1991 in what will become the Persian Gulf. This little slice of human history is kept from the masses by the few who remember. In the height of their hubris and power, the childer of Caine rule the night and day with iron talons. Strange technology and vicious barbarism go hand in hand in a world in which no vampire fears to show their true nature. Demons still walk the earth and seek to influence kindred and kine alike for their own nefarious purposes. The Deluge poured upon the earth in divine retrebution for the sins of Caine, the Nephelim and the mortals that these cursed creatures led astray. In dispair, Caine left his childer to their own devices as the survivng diaspora of Cainites made their way into other settlements, which would grow into towns, and then cities, and then empires. War, death and strife is simply a way of life... The cursed Cainites, with the aid of Disciplines whispered to them by dark powers, have turned their affliction into a call to power. Against this backdrop of an alien world, four Cainites of the future, weak and tiny by comparison, make their way through the blasted deserts and into the jungles in search of the Harbinger of Gehenna, the prophet Damien. They are fully aware that each action that they take could potentially cause a tear in the very fabric of time, and so they walk carefully and deliberately to stop a wicked Brujah methuselah and her Demon entourage from accomplishing their goals - for they are from the future too.
