Re: Bivittatum?
Fair enough Bert....That could be my assumption given when Pet City have killies....they are always the same as is on the Bay fish list ????
They could have come from another supplier ??
Re: Bivittatum?
Hi guys, I'm from Singapore, new here to this board and am a member of the killie group in Singapore.
I keep bitaeniatum "Ijebu Ode" and they have flowing orange fins. At times both the bitaeniatum and bivittatum can be easily confused.
Bitaeniatum has two lines almost parallel that run the length of the body from the tip of head to the base of the caudal fin.
Bivittatum has also two lines of which one the upper one deviates to the top and creates some sort of a v-pattern instead of two parallel lines.
Populations of both species can also be easily told apart from each other by means of colour and pattern. They were once considered subspecies of bivittatum but now have been split into several species. Edited by: killienut at: 19/7/05 4:55
