Before you turn in those velious gems...
Seems like everyone is after those precious velious quest gems. Everyone wants to do the Thurgardin quests. But wait... YOU could get better armor with the SAME gems elsewhere.
After doing some research I discovered something that some of you may know, but some may not. All classes have class specific armor in Thurgadin, Kael, and Skyshrine. And, while the stats are very similar on the 3 armors there are some differences. All quests in these 3 locations require same gems for same pieces but different armor pieces for each place.
I have made a nifty and easy to use chart comparing the druid class specific armor that you can view by clicking HERE. All are no drop, magic, but not lore (so you can have two bracers if you were wondering). For the druid armor it would appear that the Thurgardin armor is not nearly as good as Skyshrine or Kael armor. And while the Skyshrine and Kael armor share same lighter weight and improved stats, the Kael armor seems to be more on the ac/agi side while the Skyshrine leans more towards wis/mana. Personally I prefer the Skyshrine for stats but not for looks. Oh, and how does it look you ask? Well from what I've dug up online the Thurgardin armor is the same look as Tizmak armor, the Velious leather look. Kael is probably best looking as it is like Tizmak but with a green hue. As for the Skyshrine stuff, well, it may have best stats but it is the Tizmak look with an ORANGE hue (ewww).
Now, the burning question...
Where does this stuff drop?
Well, the gems would appear to drop in various locations around Velious off of 50+ mobs. The armor I'm not 100% sure on. Eroded leather I have heard drops in Kael. Knowing Velious and the faction there I'd assume the Ancient leather therefore drops in Skyshrine. As for the Unadorned...I REALLY wish I knew. I will be trying to do some further research on this as I'd really love the bracers, pants, cap (and eventually all other pieces too hehe excecpt the boots).
