Any links with France?
I'm about to start my third year of a degree in Linguistics and French, after which I'll do a postgrad course to qualify as an SLT.
My third year is a British Council teaching placement in France, during which I will need to do the fieldwork for my 4th year Dissertation. I have spoken to one of the tutors (I am at Newcastle Uni) and explained to her what I want to do in the future; she agrees that a dissertation topic in the field of child language acquisition and development would be an excellent step forward.
She has suggested that I could make contact with a clinic or hospital near my placement and study the development of a small number of children, perhaps comparing them with children who have ‘normal’ language acquisition/development.

The main reason for my somewhat lengthy post is to ask 2 questions:

1) Does anyone have or know of any links with SLT provision, in France in general and specifically in the Rhone-Alpes region (I will be staying in Romans-sur-Isère)

2) What is the French equivalent of an SLT and do you know of any websites I could use to give myself the first few stepping stones?

Many thanks!

Elli
